Julie Burelle is Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of California, San Diego. Her work focuses on how questions of Native American\ First Nations sovereignty, cultural identity, and nationhood are negotiated through performances in the particular context of Quebec. Originally from Montreal, Julie has lived across Canada and on both coasts of the United States. She holds an Honours B.A. in Theatre from the University of Toronto and a PhD in Theatre from the joint program in Theatre and Drama of the University of California, San Diego and the University of California, Irvine.
